East Meets West...

One whole and full hour in the train, travelling from Pasir Ris to Boon Lay... Not to mention another 20min bus ride...
Oh man, how fun can it be.
-_-"
Today I finally got a taste of going down to meet my future skol, NIE for a pre-admission tea reception.
And man, it's realli no kidding... It's damn far...
Veri veri tiring... And it's been only a day...
I got lots of people telling me the same old thing whenever they knew I'm going to NIE...
"Wah!! Veli FAR lehz! Muz stay hostel le!!!"
Normally, I'll juz give a pathetic smile and acknowledge this comment, trying to convince them (and myself!) tat it's not realli tat far, time will pass fast, and things lyktt...
I mean, it's only Singapore wad... how big is this country?!? And I dint even want to consider staying in a hostel becoz I know I will SURELY miss home and BeBe as well!!!
Also, hostel = tons of activities.
Where the hell am I going to find the strength and energy and time and mood to PLAY all those unnecessarily activities after a nong nong day of lectures/tutorials???
This is not called anti-social or wadever nonsense... It's juz plain ridiculous to me tat I have to participate in those late-night supper activities to earn points so I can continue to apply to stay in hostel...
???????
Aniwae, my point is, I'm quite resistant to the idea of hostel, and have already made up my mind to juz travel up and down by train for the next four years of my life...
BUT living through today made me stumble in my decision...
Suddenly the idea of hostel sounds not tat bad realli...
Their accomodation looks quite nice, but *ahem!* I only get to see the EXTERIOR, not the rooms yet... So I realli dunno wad it's like... Hopefully it's designed like DTE chalet-style... *hehehz*
So, the tea reception.
Basically, I think it's realli redundant. Waste my leave, if not I can earn more.
It's juz a little presentation to let us know wad life's like in NIE those sort of dry stuff (a prof actually bombarded all of us with an algebra qns BEFORE the presentation begins)... then came refreshment, and finally a tour ard the campus by the seniors...
Fyi, NIE/NTU is located in the middle of a jungle, where it's damn freaking quiet and there's lots of trees, bushes, plants...basically GREENERY all over the campus...
(My shifu says this is good for the students studying there, becoz after straining our eyes on the computers or books, we can simply juz look up and far at the greens, which is supposedly to be a good rest for the eyes...) *roll eyes*
Aniwae, the skol's pretty deserted becoz it's the vacation period, so there's not many people... (I can hardly imagine when the skol reopens...)
During the refreshment when everybody rushed for the food, I juz stood ard feeling awkward coz I had no appetite and juz wanted everything to end quick...
Then I saw a gal oso standing ard, not going for the food...
I was debating whether to juz go up and intro myself and shun bian make new friend...
BUT she approached me first lehz... *triumphant grinz*
After chatting, it turned out tat she's from TP as well, and she stays in the EAST too!! Simei, to be exact...
How cool is tat.
Okie, great, I've made a new friend. She's quite nice, except tat she keeps whining n whining abt climbing the stairs coz she's a lift person... And she's not veri enthu abt the coming orientation camp...
Aniwae, the campus tour was a bit, erm, strenous... but hey! At least I know where the library is!!!
Okie dokie, my big concern now is whether to apply for hostel, or simply juz SMRT...
Decisions, decisions, decisions! Somebody, please enlighten me with your kind advice, will ya?!
*SIANZ*
