My First Time...

Waddaya think i'm gonna write here? My first KISS? Or my first time at s**? *hahaz*

My first time... so alluring rite? *cheeky grinz*

Slap all ur face up down left and right!

Dun think so dirty can?!

I meant my first time working at a polyclinic, duh!!!

Oh man, it was FUN.

To be frank, I was sort of dreading going to work coz I was afraid of wad my colleagues will be like, the working environment, the job nature and blah blah blah, like having lunch on my own and wad's not.

BUT den horz, I was so overwhelmed tat all my worries are gone in less than a minute...

*laughs*

When I reached dere oh-so-punctually, the clinic is already in operation, and dere were like tens of patients waiting ard the registration counters (where i'm supposed to work)... Thot I was late or sth, so abit panicky... BUT den, it wasnt even 8am wad, so dun think I'm late...

I waited for the clinic executive to bring me into the office, picturing in my mind, an old, grumpy n short lady wearing waist-high skirt, short loose blouse, corked shoes and top it off wif a neat hair tied up in a bun...

So when a tall. young n fine lady dressed in a sexy business suit with long flowing straight hair and introduced herself to me, I was so damn relieved...

Okie, it's a good start, I told myself... Not tat bad leh...

She showed me inside the super big office and brought me to one of the registration counter, where another woman was sitting...

"Oh no, dis woman is gonna to determine my future at the clinic..." I thought.

When tat woman turned ard, my heart dropped to my stomach... At first glance, I thought she's a *ahem*, but xie tian xie di, she's actually a chin...

I'm so fucking happie tat she's not *ahem*! Dint know someone can look so *ahem*...

Aniwae, she's VERI patient in guiding n teaching me how to register the patients, and i realised tat being a registrator is so difficult... you realli haf to take note of every details, and know basic medical terms well... So there's realli MANY things to pick up, and luckily i brought a notebook along to take note of all the steps to navigate their system...

Basically, my whole morning was spent learning from my "mentor", observing how she does things and etc... Oh, and she is veri nice - brought me walk ard the building, introducing me to EVERYONE... when i say EVERYONE, i mean EVERYONE... including the nurses, personnel from various depts like the pharmacy, console, referrals, etc... and even the cleaners! Only left the doctors nv introduce... *hahaz*

There are too many ppl wif too many faces to recognise n too many names to rmb... So I was like, "Hi! Hello! I'm Jacelyn!" acting veri cheerful and chirpy and waving enthusiastically at each n every one of them with a wide grin across my face...

*laughz*

Muz leave a good impression mahz... I'm gonna spend 3 precious months dere worz, so muz da hao ji chu (set a solid foundation)...

Everybody is very friendly n helpful...

Then when lunch was approaching, I was thinking where to go n whether i shld join the rest or not, when one colleague from another dept came into the office, and announced tat they were ordering PIZZA for lunch, and hallelujah, my share was counted in... Can't believe my first time lunch can eat pizza le, and it's so cheap coz the clinic executive is paying half the bill, so the rest of us split the remaining half... so in the end I paid oni $3.50 for TWO huge slices of canadian pizzas n a drink... So worth it... And we ate in the meeting room, wif air con n big comfortable chairs... *wahahahz*

I'm so lucky... i found out tat it's not every time dey call for delivery... So wad can I say? *grinz*

After a hearty meal, it's back to work, and ppl kept coming in... BUT dere were occasional breaks where the waiting area is completely empty... So we juz slacked n chit chat lorz... *hahaz*

OH YA! I saw two cute medical students having their attachment at the clinic... so handsome worz... *kekez*

OH YA! The patients...

Most of the patients dere are old folks, so sometimes u haf to realli shout at the top of ur lungs so dey can hear u... and some dun realli understand how things work in a clinic, so u gotta explain veri slowly n patiently to dem... some are rude, some are veri nice, some are juz plain weird.

Saw a siao guy, and from my colleagues, it turns out tat he's a regular, and becoz he's siao, he always create trouble, especially when he saw a new face ard (tat's me!)... but he dint disturb me... well, maybe not today coz i'm partnered... but i believe in the near future, when i'm left alone at the counter, i'm gonna be his "victim"... they told me to juz ignore him can le... Well, we shall see...

Time passed super fast in the afternoon...probably becoz I got to try out registering patients, and things got realli busy, and so time flies...

I made a few mistakes, but I was easily forgiven, being my first time mahz... *hehehz*

My colleagues are realli nice ppl... or are they realli?

So i'm more than halfway getting used to the workload dere... and my mentor told me she's bringing me to the nearby hawker for lunch tmr!
